Embrace Child Survivors of Crime (Embrace CSoC) began in 1993 as Child Victims of Crime, founded by Cheshire police officers in the aftermath of the Warrington bomb attacks. Their aim was simple but powerful, to bring comfort and practical help to children harmed by serious crime.
What started as a police led initiative quickly grew. By 1994, we had become a national charity providing emotional, practical, and specialist support , from counselling and therapeutic services to holidays and fun days out at theme parks and other attractions, reaching hundreds of children and families every year.
Today, as Embrace Child Survivors of Crime, we continue to evolve in response to the children and families we serve. Their voices have shaped our direction. We listened, and we changed. Our updated name from Embrace Child Victims of Crime to Embrace, Child Survivors of Crime, reflects who we are now. A charity dedicated to supporting children and families who have experienced or been impacted by abuse, exploitation, and other forms of serious crime. Our focus is on therapeutic support, specialist interventions, and helping children to heal today and thrive tomorrow.
