You Are Enough groups are online parental peer support groups designed to help parents and caregivers whose children have experienced sexual violence.

When faced with the trauma of child sexual violence, parents often feel isolated and overwhelmed. Peer support provides a lifeline of understanding, connection, and the strength to move forward as a family. The programme is specifically designed to create a safe, non-judgmental space for parents to discuss and process their own personal trauma about what has happened to their child.

Developed by Protect Children, these groups offer:

Emotional Support:  A compassionate environment where parents can share and connect.

Practical Advice: Guidance and tools to help parents navigate this challenging journey.

A Safe Space to Heal: A confidential setting to process difficult emotions and find empowerment.

  • “Before joining You Are Enough, I spent months sitting in darkness with the curtains closed, trying to shut out the outside world and everything I was feeling. Through engaging with the group, I began to reconnect with myelf and others. One of the biggest signs of progress for me was finally opening the curtains again and letting the light back in — a powerful reflection of the hope, confidence and emotional strength I had started to rebuild.”

  • “I was living on the edge, where every ounce of energy was spent simply trying to hold my child together whilst living with the constant fear of losing them to suicide. The weight of this left me feeling on the brink myself, isolated and overwhelmed. Through engaging with the group, I found a safe space of understanding, support and connection. Over time, I began to regain my own strength, rebuild hope for the future, and realise that I no longer had to carry everything alone.”

  • “My expectations for the group and its impact on my wellbeing were hopeful, but as a form of support, the group turned out to be even more important than the other therapies I have had. Peer support and the facilitators’ knowledge were invaluable help that couldn't be found elsewhere."
